My name is Mary, but some people call me Garlic Girl. 

 

I became interested in Garlic Farming in 2021, and that led me to research the topic and reach out to a few local farmers, who were very inviting and helpful in explaining how they farm their crops; some farms were fully automated, and others were not. I found garlic fascinating and knew I wanted to cultivate it, so I asked the farmer whom I share a crop with to leave me 1/3 of an acre to plant garlic. 

 

I planted several varieties of garlic by hand, and let me tell you, watching the garlic grow was amazing for my soul, and harvesting it, although challenging, was very rewarding. I was STUNNED at how big this garlic grew, and I even surprised myself with the amount of work I got done. 

 

Who knew that there was so much to learn about garlic? I am not going to lie; it is hard work, but I was fortunate enough to find some agriculture business students from Lambton College to assist me in my journey. Combining my love for garlic and cooking was an easy decision to make so that people everywhere can enjoy the quality of my garlic and garlic products while making new memories with family and friends.
